The Meaning Behind Kukui

Our name, Kukui, holds deep significance. In Hawaiian culture, the kukui nut tree (Aleurites moluccanus) symbolizes light, wisdom, and enlightenment. Ancient Hawaiians used kukui nuts as natural lanterns, stringing them together and lighting them to guide their way. Just as kukui brings light into darkness, we harness the beauty of glass and light to create art that shines in your home.

Glass has an incredible way of capturing and reflecting light, much like the kukui nut once did for generations past. Each fused glass piece we create interacts with light in its own unique way, casting colorful reflections and bringing warmth into any space.
